# Does anyone know what this could be? The shiny black spot. It’s hard…

Does anyone know what this could be? The shiny black spot. It’s hard and the little guy is doing just fine. Is this some sort of sap from an injury perhaps? Maybe I just don’t remember anything happening to it in the shuffle of settling him.

Cacti turn black due to fungal diseases, including bacterial necrosis, crown rot, and phyllosticta pad spotting.
