# Hey circle!! I am thinking about doing it… I think I am going to…

Hey circle!! I am thinking about doing it… I think I am going to propagate string of pearls!! My string of pearls is so long and I want to have a new baby plant!  
I am going to do it a few different ways: water, soil, and a singular pearl. I have searched up all of these and found out they are all possible!! I will be posting updates every week about my baby strings. So excited and totally going to do it after work!!  
If you have any recommendations than feel free to share.

I have a tip! Cut from the top sections of the pot. As soon as you snip a string, it will grow back split in two…so eventually the bottom will be thick and tangled and the top will be sparse. It happened to me when I cut mine back at 5 feet and then at 3 feet and it was a nightmare!

I have propagated this plant many times and I find clipping, removing last 1”-2” of pearls from the strand, and just inserting into semi-moist soil is the best. Never got the single pearl theory to work, they either wither or rot. Water works but takes forever and is an unnecessary side step. \*\*\*Opinions based on my experience and my individual plant of 3 years\*\*\*

So i didn’t do soil bc I am out of soil bug I will definitely transfer them to soil when I get it this weekend
