# Have had this wonderful cactus for 8 years and it just recently…

Have had this wonderful cactus for 8 years and it just recently started drooping like this. I don’t know what kind of cactus this is or if it’s supposed to do this. Any advice would be appreciated!

Is it soft to the touch? And what kind of potting mix are you using? Some of the coarser ones lose their permeability over time, so it could lead to poor drainage and root rot. I’d examine the roots, repot in fresh potting mix and maybe a slightly bigger pot. Good luck!

It’s not soft or squishy at all and all the roots seem healthy. I just have it in a cactus potting soil I bought from Costco

It also may be leaning away from or towards the light.
