# My African milk tree is too tall and it completely bent over…

My African milk tree is too tall and it completely bent over yesterday. How do I save it?

I just got a little one so was doing research. That can happen when they get big. Most of what I’ve seen is people give it support.

Even in the wild they get so big they fall over (9 ft). The base plant should be fine. It will callous if any section fell off. You could always plant a new one from that if it happened.

This happens because their root systems are pretty much surface level and not deep.

I’d just use a stake to support it.

Yup. Support stake. Or, what my friend did was cut off some of the outer most arms off and give them to me (friends!) to propagate!
