# I need help! My plant is getting sicker and sicker and I don’t know…

_Posted by Steph on 2023-06-11_

I need help! My plant is getting sicker and sicker and I don’t know how to fix it. I have a Christmas a echeveria succulent and Dr. Planta isn’t helping very much and I don’t know what to do. It had yellow leaves so I put it outside slowly getting it used to the sun. Then it started turning brown! 😢 I then put it back in the shade but it didn’t help. So finally I placed it in my room w a grow lamp. I am lost and not sure what to do.

I would aerate the soil with a chopstick or pencil, pluck off the most damaged leaves, and set it in an East or west facing window or a foot or two away from a south facing window. Then I’d leave it alone completely for a couple weeks, as changing things up more will increase its stress

You could check to see if it has rot root by just taking it out of the pot :)

Hey so the brown on the top is sunburn, it was exposed to quickly or there was water on the leaves so it acted like a magnifying glass and burned the plant which isn’t going to kill it.

The soil looks like it has a very high percentage of organic material so you might want to watch that when you’re watering- it’ll be very succeptible to over watering with the soil/pot/indoor combination. add some perlite or pumice next time you repot it.

But I agree to leave it alone for a couple weeks, succulents are really hearty and over fussing them tends to lead to more issues instead of fixing them and if you are really worried about it dying you can always try propagating some of the leaves it’s pretty easy to do with these
