# Does anyone know what kind of cactus this is? We got it a few weeks…

Does anyone know what kind of cactus this is? We got it a few weeks ago at our local garden but it didn’t say what type of cactus it is. There’s a ton new growth and we’re even getting a few flowers!

Looks like a Thanksgiving, Christmas or Easter cactus. You will be able to tell the difference by the shape of the leaves

It’s not these types. The above cactus is too thick. Segments are much longer.

I want to zag and say it looks like a very compact growing orchid cactus. If it is they make beautiful flowers

I agree. Luckily it looks like there is a flower forming so an ID should be pretty simple soon.

I don’t think this is a schlumbergera cactus based on the beefiness of the pads and the spindle type growth.
