# really want to try putting my cacti/succs out since it’s been getting…

_Posted by Lili on 2024-06-12_

really want to try putting my cacti/succs out since it’s been getting warmer but I definitely don’t want them to burn so I put them in the shade — am I making a mistake?? Also not sure if the SOH will do fine out here bc I’m also debating on putting my SOP next to them. Any advice??

perfect! always do this gradually — i try to do it on a cloudy day but this works! another method is to cover it with a screen, like from a window, to filter light. but what you’re doing is great

Additional info: the balcony gets west sunlight so I’m thinking it could be too strong. Should I maybe start on the east??

I would put them as close as possible to wherever you want to leave them — mostly to save yourself some trouble. as long as you let them acclimate gradually, just a couple days, they’ll be ok 😊
