Okay so my donkeys tail has gotten really bare and the leaves keep popping off I know I need to repot it but is that the cause of the issue? I have it under a grow light for 8-12 hours a day and only water when the soil is dry. I have had it for years and do not want it to die.

extreme temps and overwatering are the main culprits for leaves dropping usually. when was the last time it was repotted? do you fertilize?

is it like you touch it and leaves rain down? or a few every day or so?

I repotted about a year ago and I do fertilize with a cactus fertilizer
