# I got this guy some months ago and cleared out all the dead leaves…

I got this guy some months ago and cleared out all the dead leaves and so forth. The offshoots are doing great. Those seem to have stronger roots now.  
My question is why do I keep getting tips to shrivel and brown? I only water when bone dry. He seems healthy and happy and actually kind of perked up when I removed the undergrowth (probably 4+ months back.) is this normal?

Is the pot sitting in water?

It was watered today so the catch dish has a little water right now but not at any other time, and the sides have a lot of openings. All the dark spots on the sides are openings and it has 3 sides like that.
