# Good day all my plant parents! SOIL!? I just ordered naked root pots…

_Posted by MBS on 2026-03-22_

Good day all my plant parents!

SOIL!?

I just ordered naked root pots because they were 50%! I wanna up my game with all of my plants so that way I could be a better plant mom with not over water and being able to check on their roots!
With that said with this upgrade, I would also like to upgrade my soil! I tend to use stuff that I’m able to get at Home Depot or Miners to make my chuck mix.

All advice welcome please

Might be too basic for what you’re asking, but I’m a big fan of Fox Farm Ocean Forest or Coco Loco as a base to then add perlite, orchid bark, etc. for aeration or chunkier mixes depending on plant preferences.
