"What is the white substance on top of the soil in my snake plant?
I noticed it when the plant was in a smaller pot, and now that I’ve repotted it into a larger one, it’s appearing again. Any idea what it might be and how to deal with it?"

it could be mold/harmless fungus growing in your soil due to the soil staying too wet for the plant. try repotting into a smaller pot with a chunkier mix and be sure to wash the roots with dish soap and water. i had a massive takeover in my monstera but i was able to clean it up and the issue was resolved after changing out the soil mix

Thank you - I greatly appreciate that.

It's flowerpot parasol or a similar mushroom. It's totally harmless to plants, so you can keep it and enjoy a mushroom bloom if you like. If you have curious pets or kids, you may want to remove it (It's not dangerous, but it can cause stomach upset if eaten.) To remove it, you can turn the soil at this stage, pick any mushrooms, or use a fungicide for more permanent removal. This kind of mycellium is common in soil though, so it'll be back. Seeing mushroom blooms frequently indicates overwatering, but an occasional bloom just means the mushroom likes the soil quality

Thank you - so far no mushroom blooms…yet. 😉
