# Is it more important to have my grow lights timed to turn on at…

Is it more important to have my grow lights timed to turn on at sunrise or turn off at sunset.I’m asking because here in the Midwest there’s no longer 12 hours of sunlight during the day. My grow lights timers choices are 6-12-24 hours. Thanks

Have them run for 12 hours. I have less than 12 hours of sun each day but they still need 12 hours.

Ok but should I have the timer turn on at sunrise and turn off after sunset or the other way around?

I think the consistent 12 on and 12 dark matters more than when…

Agreed. It doesn’t matter if it matches sunrise/sunset. Just set them for 12 hours. 😉
