# Why is my Venus fly trap drooping? I have it in a windowsill facing…

Why is my Venus fly trap drooping? I have it in a windowsill facing south and it gets direct sunlight all day. I have it in a tray of distilled water that’s up less than an inch and I only refill when it’s completely drained. The tray usually gives it enough humidity. It’s been floppy since I got it (and it WASNT in those plastic container things)

this question had me stumped so i googled it- most sources seem to say either its not receiving enough light or water.  
i would try letting the water level go up to at least an inch, and keep the pot sitting in water.

if that alone doesnt work, then i would try to increase light as well. maybe try getting a cheap grow light and see how it does.

it is a bog plant, you shouldn’t wait until it is completely drained, it should always be sitting in water

I mean like as soon as the tray is drained I refill

It might be underwatering or not getting enough food minerals is doing that too 🫤

I water with distilled water and it has quite enough food 100%
