Hi new plant mum here this is Jeff had him a couple weeks now and he has made a lot of dramatic changes since I bought him from the garden centre I picked the least dead looking one there and he has truly flourished since haven’t killed him yet thank god so I’ve been watching a lot of Venus flytrap videos to really get a thorough understanding of water etc now Jeff’s been blessed with a last minute heat wave we had after a bearable summer and I’ve just started hearing about the dormancy period when it cools down and I just wondered what does this entail and what do I need to do with him thank you! (Ps is that little bud in the middle a flower growing it looks different to the rest)

Just put Him in a colder area and continue normal watering in spring you can prune of black trap s this post gave me hope for my little guy who was pretty wilty where I got him so they gave it to me for free

Yeah I did think he would be exceptionally difficult to handle when he looked quite dead I gave the black traps a trim and suddenly it’s like he gave himself new life he’s even on route to growing a flower 👍🏻
