Anyone know why my Bird of paradise leaf came out so short?

This is the first leaf this has put out since I brought it home a few months ago. I also did repot a few weeks ago because it was extremely root bound

Will it get taller over time? Is this a nutrient deficiency? Watering issue?

Mine pushed out two new leaves when I brought it home, that came out short, but they grew taller over time

They will only grow as long as they need to be. It’s probably satisfied with the amount of light it receives and doesn’t need to reach out any further.
