When you are using the chopstick method to determine dryness of a plant, for your plants that don’t like to be totally dry, ferns, Calatheas, fig plants, etc., how dirty should your stick be or not be? That is my question of the day and has been for a while, I just haven’t asked. TXS. 💚🪴

There is a visible difference between when your soil is wet (larger darker clumps on the stick) vs when its dried out but still has some moisture (more “dust” like specks on the skewer).

I wait until its more dust like and about half way down my stick.
