# Any ideas why so many leaves on my fiddle point do strongly down? New…

_Opslået af J.Ross den 2024-06-19_

Any ideas why so many leaves on my fiddle point do strongly down? New leaves go up, then the rest go straight down. BUT, theyre not droopy or weak, there’s not a single spot of yellow on any leaf AND it hasn’t had a single leaf drop in over a year!

I’ve had lots of experience with over watering and root rot on fiddles. But this doesn’t look like that because there would be some yellowing or some leaf drop.
Oh also it grows 2-3 new leaves every month! So it’s healthy but then 75% of its leaves point down.

What is the deal??

It could be pointing towards the best available light source since the watering is no issue and it doesn’t look nutrient deficient. There is no overhead light in the photos. The lamp and window are at its sides being so tall. You could try hanging a strong grow light above it a few months to see if the leaves move to face the grow light. I’m not sure if the leaves are set in place after a certain time. The new leaves will continue to face upwards if my theory is correct. Worth trying.

I would recommend getting a reliable brand like Barrina or Sansi that has high lumens to reach the height and depth.

Appreciate it. Based on your advice f I got rid of the plant stand which was putting it 8-10 inches higher. Hoping that helps. If not I’ll do the grow light.

Thanks for the help!

Agreed above with the lighting suggestion. I think those lower leaves want some more light. Here’s my setup with my Sansi light. I rotate monthly-ish so that all those lower leaves get some window time.

Thanks for the help. I had it on a plant stand for aesthetics, and it was much shorter when I originally got it. So I ditched the plant stand. Hoping those bottom leaves can reach up a bit more now. But if it doesn’t solve the problem, I’ll go with the grow light everyone’s recommended

Thanks for the advice!!
