# Hello plant parents 🌱 what is the best way to store left over soil?…

_Pubblicato da Katarina Piña il 2024-05-07_

Hello plant parents 🌱 what is the best way to store left over soil? I have half a bag of Foxfarm soil after repotting my monstera and I’m not sure how to go about storing it. The soil itself is a wet mix and I don’t know if it should be stored in an airtight container or just in a bag. Suggestions welcomed thank you! 😊

I just use a big plastic tote!

Are you storing indoors or outdoors? If outdoor bulk storage, I would fold the bag closed any use tape to secure it. Place that bag inside of a large garbage bag and tie that in a knot. Place that bag in a storage tote in a shaded area. A bit on the extra side, but you shouldn’t get any bugs in your soil that way. I left a bag loosely closed in my outdoor storage closet last year and it was full of critters when I went back to it. NEVER AGAIN 😂

I keep my premixed custom blend in a smaller airtight tote so it stays moist and ready to use whenever I need it.
