# So my avocado was finally moved from his water jar to a pot of soil…

So my avocado was finally moved from his water jar to a pot of soil about 4 weeks ago. I’ve. Even watering and misting per the app’s instructions, but his leaves are curling and looking dry. Any help or advice is appreciated! He’s 18” tall and has his own little growlight

I’m not really sure, this is the second one who was fine while living in water but started dying within a few months of being in soil

Use distilled or rainwater. I have killed 3 with hard minerals. They tolerate it for about 6 months and then suddenly die. It is the most common mistake I have seen people make.

Thank you so much for the suggestion, I’ll start using distilled water and see if he perks up.
