While watering my fern tonight, I noticed two of the new leaves had these brownish spots on the backs of their leaves. Are these some kind of spores? I’ve seen spores on the backs of some outdoor ferns, but they didn’t look like this at all. TIA!

I think this is spore development also. I agree with you though, they don't look like the typical shape or placement of spores on a rabbit's foot fern. Even so I think it is spore development
