# My Dieffenbachia is a bit extra droopy. I do think there was a bit…

_Posted by Bodhi\_PlantMama on 2024-02-22_

My Dieffenbachia is a bit extra droopy. I do think there was a bit too much dry heat in my house today, but even then, she normally doesn’t get this way. She’s “newer”. I have waited until she is dry to water and she’s still a little damp. The stems and leaves have the soft give (that I think is normal for this plant). I gave a little humidity when I got home… any tips? Does she look normal or just a bit tired 😂

She’s beautiful! I love these plants
Just got my first one this past weekend

it looks like she may just be reaching for light! she looks very happy \& healthy. if it’s not that, maybe the roots need to breathe. you could repot with a chunkier soil mix.

Oh my gosh, I actually put her in more shade because I was told not to put her in the sun and then I thought she was getting too much sun lol I’ll definitely try to put her back in the sun. Thank you!

that makes sense! sunlight is tricky. just make sure no direct sunlight is on the leafs because they burn. filtered or indirect sunlight will be best (: i hope she continues growing happily! you’re welcome (: good luck!!

It looks like she needs light and water. I normally let mind dry out 50% before I water.

Lol someone told me to not give her too much sun so I put her in more shade! I’ll definitely try giving her more of the sun and she seems to be moist still but the leaves are dry, so I tried some humidity… Maybe my heater?
Thank you!!

How is your plant doing?

#### Bodhi\_PlantMama replied on 2024-02-29

Sad 😭 I gave more humidity, it’s perked up a tiny bit when I watered but it’s looks lackluster 😂

I water her when so 50% dry, and keep her near a window. I mist her according to the app’s recommendations. I do use rain water on my plants.
