You may need special drill bits that your husband may not have. But easy to get from Amazon. I’ve been drilling holes in pots and non-pots for quite a while. He will need a diamond drill bits for ceramics. Sounds expensive but a set is about $15 from Amazon. Originally I tried bits for brick and concrete, but didn’t work. There is a simple technique to learn also. And wear eye protection. Pieces often fly. Some materials are still difficult to drill thru, especially stoneware. Drilling holes opens up a whole new world of possibilities. I get many “pots” from Goodwill. Some beautiful decorative planters people probably gave up on because of no drainage as well as decorative baking dishes. I only use items that won’t look like their original intended use. I have done so many that I forget.
