# I am new to Calathea and got this beautiful Calathea Vittata about 2…

I am new to Calathea and got this beautiful Calathea Vittata about 2 months ago. It started getting these brown spots on multiple leaves and I’m not sure why 🙁 I’m watering with distilled water (I may have forgotten a couple of times 😢). Also using a humidifier. It’s usually on a north facing windowsill which in NY is getting a little chillier so I might move it to the center of the room. Would appreciate any advice people can give!

I have some calatheas at home and they are… fussy lol. You seem to have done research given that you have a humidifier, so my best advice is that for watering: Never let it dry out completely. It should still have some moisture when you water it again. It’s a tropical plant so it just absolutely loves water. Hope this helps! 😊

Calatheas are the bane of my existence. I love them but they don’t love me back!
