# Just wondering if anyone knows what happens to pineapple plants after…

Just wondering if anyone knows what happens to pineapple plants after the fruit has been taken off? Will this continue to grow? I have taken the smaller baby plants and repotted those in the back but more curious to know what will happen to the mother plant:)

The mother plant slowly dies after producing fruit since they are in the bromeliad family.

How many did your mom give you?

You and I are in the same place. I got 24 babies from the plant I bought from the grocery store. From those, I still have 14 ranging in size. Here is my smallest one and largest one.
