Hello I just bought an alocasia but I also heard horror stories after my purchase lol, any tips are helpful, water, pest control and anything in between. Thank you!

Get the proper soil for your alocasia. Well draining soil will be your best choice. Bright indirect light too

What kind of soil would you suggest, I’ve bought a coco blend and a chunky blend

Be very consistent about watering. Alocasias shock easily, so don't be surprised if it throws a tantrum over being moved; it'll probably drop one or two leaves and then calm down.

Use a chunky, fast-draining aroid mix made from potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark. Mine is thriving with this mix
