Hi all! Looking for a little inspiration for my trandescantia. I had her on a trellis but she overgrew it and it couldn’t stand her weight 😂 pic 1 is before detangling her. Pic 2 is where we landed in a new pot after she lost some stems in the process. I basically just put all the vines on top of each other so my cat didn’t eat her 🙃 Wondering what creative things other people have done to display their trandescantia?

u should hang her. like w a hook or on a stairwell thingy. on pinterest u can make a macrame thing w a piece of string(one knot). i have a few pothos like that or attach w/ clips to the wall(like growing)

Tradiscantias look nice in hanging baskets or dangling from a higher spot like the corner of a baker's rack. Also, they are very tolerant of heavy pruning. You could prune most of that excess leggy growth off then maybe plug some of it cuttings into the top of the pot. If and when you up pot, which should be done in the spring or summer, don't go more than one size larger because they won't like the excess soil.

I would definitely trim most of it as KJM recommended. It’s leggy, large gaps between the nodes, probably from searching for light. Cut it, provide more light and regularly fertilize.

Thanks everyone! I do trim her regularly, but ironically, she grows very quickly because she is in a south facing window. But I love the idea of hanging her! Thanks so much!
