My plant seems to have taken a hit…should I leave it be to regrow or trim the leaf off? I’m supporting it to stand up in the photo, it’s bending down on its own. New to plant care! Any advice would be helpful!! Thanks!

If you don’t like the appearance then it’s fine to trim it off. It looks like your plant has plenty of other healthy leaves and it likely won’t feel much difference either way.

Leaving it on has some benefit because it can still photosynthesize, and the plant can also resorb nutrients. From the plant’s POV, it’s helpful to leave leaves attached until they yellow fully because they’ll keep drawing nutrients up to that point.

(The exceptions here are cases where the vessels that connect the leaf to the plant are damaged, like if a petiole fully snaps, or if there are pests on the leaf.)

If it pains you to get rid of the leaf, then, try to patch it. Cut off the dead bits at the broken vein section to expose flowing sap. Press the two sides together at the vein. Put toothpick splints or similar at the back for support. Use painters tape to hold it. I’m not sure it will work on such pliable leaves. It works on a monstera. Good luck !🍀 🪴
