Trim a watermelon plant?

To encourage fruit growth, should I cut back the stems of the plant?
Would this focus the growth in one specific area?
It’s starting to make flowers. I started it in May

Yes! The problem with watermelons is they have male and female flowers so you’ll want to prune less than you think you should. I’d just go for any stems that don’t look very healthy or don’t have any flower buds. Make sure to prune when it’s completely dry with clean shears. Watermelons are fairly disease prone
