_Pubblicato da jaydodia09 il 2025-01-18_

Hey! I have a really nice and wholesome spider plant in a potter. It’s also producing flowers and those baby branches that looks like having newer spider plant babies on its ends. Is it possible I can cut those small babies and replant them to grow another spider plant in another potter?

Yeah totally, you can either cut them off and plant them or you can keep them attached when you plant them. If you leave them attached, you cut the stem off once it starts to sprout

Thanks a lot Jess! Any idea if I cut it from the stem and replant it - how much of the stem should I keep with the baby? Don’t want to cut it too short or too long

I don’t think it matters, I usually go as close as I can to the baby without actually cutting it. I normally trim it close to the original plant as well for aesthetics

Thanks! Just repotted them!

The baby spider plants need to have roots before cutting it from the mother plant or they won’t grow. The more roots the better chance of survival.

Damn! Really? Maybe I messed up? Mine did not have roots yet. I direct cut it from the stem and planted it. I hope it still grows well🙇🏻‍♂️ but thank you so much for sharing this. Much appreciated

I always pop mine in water and within a week, they have crazy roots. I have propagated too many that I’m running out of space

Yes. I have hundreds of spider plants that came from one single spider plant
