Funny thing is over watering can cause the same thing. Just have to find that balance

Sometimes sunflowers are also just too heavy for the stem depending on the speed of growth. Happens to mine all the time because I get like 6 or 7 blooms on the top of one stalk and it is too heave my

Do you use anything to hold them on or will they work themselves out? This is my first time growing sunflowers.

If you can fine stakes tall enough you can use stakes and plant Velcro to support it. I personally just let them hand because the blooms only last a few days before they start dropping petals and trying to seed. If you don’t care about them seeding or staking them you can also just chop them at the bend and put them in a vase for a little while to enjoy.

One may have more developed roots than the other. Check the soil. It needs water if it’s dry. It’s overwatered if it’s wet.
