Anyone know what kind of bush / tree this is? It was just planted out front of our new house but we weren’t told what it is.

I think it’s a “sweetbay magnolia” the blooms on those can be absolutely gorgeous!

use the app “PlantNet” it has a free plant identifier and you don’t even have to log in

Definitely a magnolia. If you happen to want another one, those bright red things are seeds, and you have several other seed pods in the works. They're really nice flowering trees, and their leaves tend to have a nice waxy look
