# I’m a little worried about my ponytail palm. It had a bit of a fall…

I’m a little worried about my ponytail palm. It had a bit of a fall the other day from a windowsill. It don’t come out of the soil or anything. But I wonder if it broke 😬 (circled). It’s also experiencing some yellowing and crispy ends. Suggestions ?

I get crispy ends all the time, I just trim them. You can give toe broken leaves a week or so to see if they perk back up but if they don't, just trim them. I imagine they'll grow back.

Most of it should recover but that one circled area May not. That looks like a growing tip and if that is broken it will not continue to grow from that spot. It may develop a new side shoot to replace the one that broke.

Crispy edges are normal if the plant is under watered. Let the soil dry between watering since the trunk stores water. Then, water and fertilize.

The fall could have dislodged the soil or damaged the roots which can also cause yellowing until the plant recovers.
