Can someone please help identify what's wrong with my corn plant? The edges of its leaves are turning brown and looks like there are tiny dots on them. Any suggestions on what's causing this and how to fix it?

Hello good afternoon, I do only have one corn plant so this comment is based of what has worked for me and what has been shared with me. So firstly, this mainly seems like a low humidity situation. These plants are humidity lovers! The holes also point to light stress, they prefer bright indirect not direct rays many West/South Windows give. And just for safe keeping I’d recommend peeking on the underside of the plants, just to ensure pests aren’t the issue. But here is what’s worked for me, these things are divas.. and somewhat a bit of work. So, firstly I’d switch to distilled water or rain water.. if you suspect fluoride or salt buildup (Often common in corn plants ) - I’d also flush the soil well monthly just to wash away excess salts. And also boosting humidity conditions would work a TON. You can use a tray, or group plants alike to create a microclimate. Or even a quick trip in the bathroom while you shower every so often. This will encourage growth and lushness - and trim damaged ends.. it won’t reverse anything but it sure will help appearance wise and also redirect energy. This plant seems happy otherwise and overall, just a few changes here and there and she will do just fine.

Thank you so so much. My office has ceiling regulated ac vent over my desk so it stays so cold there and I suspect that is the main cause. That and I used tap water, I will switch to distilled water and cut away the yellow/brown leaves. Your advice is so valuable and thanks again!

Of courseee, just helping out. I work at a nursery, and many come in with questions about these plants ! 🪴 Also - Watch out for direct airflow from the vent, and if it is super duper cold as most offices are maybe sit her close to a window, or on warmer days give her a chance outside to take in a good amount of light to avoid dry sterile air and crisp leaves, but really a humidifier solves 70% of the office air conditions. Goodluck plant parent!! Let me know if you have anymore questions or just insight about this plant.
