This Wednesday is Earth day 🌎 Here at Planta we are celebrating all week with with challenges! Earth Week Challenge 1: Growth is a Gift 🪴✨

We’re starting off Earth Week with a new feature alert: Propagation! 📣

Sustainability isn’t just about today, it’s about thinking ahead. Today, we’re using our new feature to prepare for the future.

The Mission:  
Take cuttings from various plants now to prep for future gifts. By the time the next celebration rolls around, you’ll have a rooted, living present ready to go. No plastic, no store-run, just shared growth. ✂️

I’ve had this Hoya cutting (Gwen) in water, changed every few days, for about 3-4 weeks. I think I see some white forming around the submerged leaf node…is that on track or should I do something to help root development along?

When you are at the main page for your plant you want to propagate, tap the plus sign, then tap propagate 😁 Right now it is available to our IOS users.

This Tradescantia zebrina is a rescue from this Saturday farmers market. I found it on the ground while shopping this week's grocery. I picked it up and put it in my coffee cup with water. It is still looking good. I believe it will make it to see several Earth Week's at this rate.
