# I am going to be getting this spider plant today. I know she's gonna…

I am going to be getting this spider plant today. I know she's gonna need some tlc. Tbh I'm just excited about the babies I'm going to be getting! It's around 20 years old. I need some advice. How do I do anything with a plant this large? Where should I store this behemoth? She definitely needs a haircut. I need a name!

I can't tell by the picture what it is. I know you said Spiderplant but i can't see how to answer your questions by this picture. Can you take a some other photos? Or maybe someone else can tell. Sorry.

She has been repotted and watered thoroughly. I did give it a little bit of a trim

It looks a bit dehydrated based on the leaves folding up and looking thin. The leaves should be flatter with few dry tips. Water once the soil dries out. These plants have thick finger roots that hold a lot more water. See my photo.

I would isolate it for a month until it acclimates to the new home. Check for pests and spray with an insecticidal soap once a week the first month as a preventative against hitchhikers. I would change the soil by next spring to refresh it. Try to avoid damaging the roots. Spider plants like a tighter fitting pot.

It needs more light and probably fertilizer based on the pale green and low white variegations. Get bright filters south or west light or add a grow ligh. 🪴🍀
