# Hey was just looking for some tips for taking care of of orchids…

Hey was just looking for some tips for taking care of of orchids because I’m thinking about getting one soon, any tips?

My moth orchid likes a slotted orchid pot, bark \& an east window.  
Also when she’s dry her roots look silver \& when she’s hydrated they turn green. Makes it pretty easy to tell when she needs water. 😊

Not sure but you should change the pot and put it into a bigger one

I would put it in a slotted pot, very chunky mix, (eg, bark, orchid potting mix, ect) and absolutely do NOT use ice cubes.

Np :D I have a few of my own, 7-8 so I know the dos and donts :)

Avoid getting water in the crown (where the leaves all meet.) If you happen to get that area wet, dry it off, otherwise it can trap water and cause rotting
