I’ve been recommended a neem oil solution for that with my new Chinese Elm bonsai…I’m a beginner going of of someone else’s advice.

Kinda depends on what they are. There are general treatments such as neem oil and insecticidal soap. Most infestations require weekly treatments for about 2 months. I use insecticidal soap. Neem oil damaged some of my Echeveria so I only use it on the soil.

After trying many, many things I’ve found a Castile soap solution to be the best. It kills bugs but doesn’t harm the plant (unlike spraying them with isopropyl alcohol - I lost a few plants doing that).

Castile soap, a bit of 70% alcohol, \& water. You’ll need to spray the plants regularly, until all pests are gone. Frequency depends on the pest’s life cycle.
