so.. yesterday i was repotting all of my new plants. i got to my orchid and its roots were a mix of green, yellow, white, and black. i thought the yellow meant bad so i chopped those off including the white and black. i now realize the error of my actions and the roots have become a root and a nub. what do i do

you cross your fingers and wait — it doesn’t look like you left any roots at all 😅

in future green \& silver are good, healthy roots. green are hydrated, silver are ready for water

I'd put some rooting hormone in the water and hope for the best

Wrap some sphagnum moss around the bottom and keep it moist but not sopping wet. Once the blooms have died and the spikes turn brown you can then cut off the spikes. After a few weeks the plant will go into growth mode and new roots should develop.
