# Monstera woe, part 184... Thrips damage (over the summer) and maybe…

Monstera woe, part 184...

Thrips damage (over the summer) and maybe root rot? The small, sad leaf just unfurled this past week. The other stem is still ok....should I separate the stems? Just the severe damage stem and hope for the best?

Maybe I am not meant to be a Monstera Mama.

Hi! I wouldn’t separate. I’d cut the damaged stem which will cause new growth to still climb up the moss pole

I don’t have any advice but can totally relate to your post! Some of my plants are so challenging but don’t give up! Good luck!
