# I desperately need some advice…. This is my Cotyledon Pendens. She…

I desperately need some advice…. This is my Cotyledon Pendens. She started out as barely a 2 inch starter plant and you can see she has gotten significantly bigger but especially fuller. Planta says she needs to be repotted. How do I do this without damaging her and losing all her “leaves”- is that the proper term..lol? The pot itself is a very heavy ceramic/terra-cotta pot. I cannot even get my hands under the leaves. This plant looks like it’s been given steroids!!!

Eek! It’s definitely an anxiety causing repot but it might not need to be done. Succulents have pretty shallow roots so (from my experience) they don’t always need repotting when planta suggests. But, that being said, when you DO end up doing it, it will cause the leaves to fall off and that’s unfortunately the sad part. I just repotted my Burro tails and I was able to get through it with minimal damage. If it’s thriving, snooze the repot for now.

I was gonna say it’s GORGEOUS, don’t repot it until it looked like it starting to suffer being in that pot. Cause right now she’s ✨flourishing✨

I agree that a repot may be unnecessary if she’s not showing signs of being root-bound, but she is absolutely STUNNING! I have a small one of these in a 3 in pot, and this is aspirational! How long did it take for her to get to this size?

Thank you so much!! Believe it or not I bought this plant on Etsy exactly one year ago-probably why Planta is advising a repot. At first I thought I was going to lose this plant. It definitely did not do well in the beginning. After I added a grow light directly above it took off. It’s kinda difficult to water. I can water from the bottom but it takes FOREVER!! If I water from above it’s very difficult to see what I’m doing. I don’t want to get the plant itself wet but very hard to avoid that. This picture that I added was taken the day it was delivered. It’s a crazy plant!!
