I have a large one, and I water it every four or five days. Before I will water, the plant will still feel heavy when I pick it up, and the soil still feels damp, but a water meter well help show you when she’s just moist, not wet, and needs to be watered. So beware… keep your fern well watered and it will stay happy and beautiful! PS. I’ve had this fern for a couple years,. I only water my peace lily and my spider plants with distilled or rain water. They do not like my tap. I converted my peace lily to hydroponic and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done… #### Lynda svarade den 2025-02-05 Can you tell me a bit more about using a hydroponic medium for plants? I haven’t used this method before, but I’m seriously considering experimenting with one plant… just to see how it goes. TIA! #### Kades svarade den 2025-02-05 My lily is actually in full hydroponic so she’s in a vase at the moment. I use rainwater (bc Oregon never stops raining) or distilled. I add a teeny bit of superthrive and some light fertilizer! TIA! #### Kades svarade den 2025-02-10 I haven’t watched much yt about it but my process is basically rinse off all the potting medium off the roots. Make sure the roots don’t have any mushiness bc the water will make it worse. I just plop them in a vase and fill it up to cover all the roots will trying to keep the plant itself above the water line (they sell specific pots and things to keep your plant in the right spot) I usually have a decent adjustment period and lose a few roots at the beginning. Instead of just 1 spray of water when you pull the trigger, it sprays for a little while.
