When planting Zinnias.a California poppy,patunias,gladiolus ,Alyssum how  
Moots should there soil be to sprout? I’m new at growing from seedlings

If the seeds are in packages there should be specific directions on how deep the seeds should be planted. Most seeds should be planted no deeper than a half inch and often you would just barely cover them with soil. Gladiola bulbs should be planted 6 in deep. Larger bulbs (14cm) will produce stronger plants and larger flowers.
