Hello :) I have a question about my monstara he is leaning a bit and I was wondering if he needs a moss pole or something like that to keep him up thank yooooouuuuu :) (also I need how to use a moss pole bc I’ve never used one before lol)

I just got a monstera for $10 on Friday. His name is Grover lol. I was glad it was cheap so I didn’t feel guilty. Today I just spent $30 on a treleaf beginner set of trellis stands 🤦‍♀️ for him. I got the regular size because he’s just over a foot tall. Your monstera looks fantastic!

I am totally inexperienced with monstera but I’ve watched YouTube videos that said moss poles are a lot of work to maintain.

I’ve been transitioning plants to moss poles and Treleaf trellises. Treleaf looks great and is super easy. Tried coco coir poles and after many months no plants attached to them. Treleaf has stakes that you just push into the soil. Moss poles require repotting because the pole needs to go to bottom of pot. It’s a major hassle. I’ve done three fairly large plants. Plus the pole takes up a lot of space in the pot. But after only a few weeks it looks like at least one plant is growing into the pole. They need to be kept moist. So that means misting the poles every 3 or 4 days. I asked Treleaf if their poles need to be kept moist to get the plant to anchor to it. They said no, they will naturally use it. As far as your monstera, I would suggest checking out videos on YouTube. Monsteras have a front and back. The back needs to be against the support. A moss pole will work for sure but they are a hassle. I make my own from an online kit. Treleaf makes a modular trellis which you can expand. Currently that’s what I’m using. You can get great buys in their sale section which is added to the last Thursday of the month. I just bought another kit for almost half price. Was about $110 and I got it for $59. Probably either will work it’s just which will be best for you considering time and patience.
