Please post your big plant supports for inspiration!

My deliciosa’s leaves started reaching the ceiling a few leaves ago so it’s definitely time to cut her down again and replant it in a bigger pot.
I’ve decided on cutting it back in two pieces, about halfway down and getting the big Asparen pot from Ikea since it’s a similar width to the current one, but about 2.5x longer and should fit all the cuttings nicely. There’s already three “smaller” plants from a previous chop a few years ago in this pot, so we’re looking at 6 in total. 😅

I’m thinking of doing 2m/7’-ish tall supports from the start so I don’t have to make new ones later on.
But I’m not sure how to do it and what materials to use, and I can anchor them to the wall for safety. I don’t want moss poles since they’re inconvenient to maintain at the height I want and I have a humidifier.
🤷‍♂️

hmmm go to pinterest and look up moss pile diy bc they have a step by step of what you need
when u cut make sure there are aerial nodes especially for a plant this big
(so pretty btw)
i think(personally) to separate the different parts of the monstera like how there are "multiple" plants yknow

I don’t want moss poles since they’re hard to maintain at the size I want, are unnecessary expensive and are too weak for a plant of this size and weight.

ah ok mb i didnt see that part
u can look up wall clips? i do that for my pothos
sry im not much help😅

I edited the post a bit to clarify that part after your comment. So no worries! 😉

But the idea of wall clips is not bad!
I could probably get tall planks mounted to the wall and just add screw hooks into them as the plants grow. 🤔

just with that make sure the roots dont go into the wall incase you do move again

It’s 8 years old and has been through probably 10 moves to different apartments, and there’s plenty of brown edges and bare parts of the stem because of it. But now it’s thriving and I can’t get it out of the door, so I guess I have to stay here now. 😂

No issues with wood rot or did you protect the plank in any way?

#### Bay Area Plant Mom replied on 2025-03-29

I didn’t protect and so far none (it’s been a little over a year), a nice gentleman at Home Depot recommended a few types of wood that are rot resistant and apparently will break down much slower and so far so good 🤞🏼🥲

I have wooden planks for mine. I have a ton of plants in one pot so I use 2 red oak planks for support.

#### Johan replied on 2025-03-28

Did you protect the plank in any way from getting wet and rot?

#### PlantLady replied on 2025-03-30

I used a couple coats of teak oil to try and prevent them from absorbing too much moisture.
