# Anyone know why my rubber plants is starting to produce 2 leaves at…

Anyone know why my rubber plants is starting to produce 2 leaves at the same time? It hasn’t grown any leaves for a while so I gave it a repot and it been doing a lot better and put out new leaves on all of its stems. The first stem had a layer on it that came off and a little dead rubber plant leaf was inside I thought nothing of it. Then the second leaf come and the same thing happened except the leaf was very small and still alive. The third leaf came and it was the exact same as the first leaf. (Ive attached a photo of it) is there any reassign why this is happening? And is this normal?

Totally normal! It’s called a bud scale and it’s a protective outer layer for a new leaf :)
