# Hi y’all! I have a spider plant that is growing beautifully…

_Posted by Kirsten on 2025-05-18_

Hi y’all! I have a spider plant that is growing beautifully (especially after a pest infection), but I’m wondering if it needs a bigger pot? I don’t want to put it in shock and hinder the growth it’s making, but the plant seems a little less supportive in the soil (like a little flimsy, especially after watering) and I noticed these little things growing. Are these stems? Roots? Is it telling me it needs more space?

Pull off the pot. Spider plants like the roots to fill the pot. The plant will look yellow and spotty if the roots aren’t supporting the leaves because of a root bound condition preventing drainage. My photo show spider plants that look root bound. They are not because water flows through and the roots providing moisture and nutrients to the plant.

I’m not sure why the plant is limp. Let the soil dry out before watering. Don’t follow a strict schedule. Fertilize regularly. 🪴🍀
