Question

Is my bathroom a good a place for my monstera? It’s always sunny in there and it’s about 2-3 ft away from the window. I have other plants in there as well. To me they a lot better in there then outside. I live in Hammond Louisiana in zone 9b i think!?!?

Your Monstera can actually thrive in a bathroom, as long as it gets plenty of light and has proper air circulation. They absolutely love high humidity!

How do I get humidity in there? Like my bedroom and bathroom is normally a little warmer then the rest of my apartment but how do I a get it right for her like I just get and don’t want to kill her. She’s gorgeous.

When someone showers with warm water and keeps the door closed, it creates humidity in the room. You can also run a hot shower for about 3 minutes to build up moisture in the air. If you’re unsure whether your plant is getting enough humidity, try placing a humidity thermometer nearby to monitor the levels.

You’ll also want to bottom water them using distilled water, avoid using tap water.

They do well both indoors and outside. Mine has been outside in south Texas, zone 9, for years. I move it in the garage when temperatures reach freezing. That’s about two weeks a year. It’s in an 18” wide pot. It’s very old.
