# Help please. These 2 plants were in a bigger planter together in…

_Publicado por Stephanie el 2025-08-13_

Help please. These 2 plants were in a bigger planter together in these small pots and they were given to me cause they started to die, so I took them out and found this mess of roots and I'm not sure what to do for them. I'm not very familiar with orchids and this one has some sticky stuff on the leaves but no sign of bugs. I sprayed them both down with neem oil just in case. Please any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks for the help

Is that a syngonium? If so they are resilient. You can cut the roots down and repot. You can also cut them down all the way to stalks and they will regrow again. I am not sure about Orchids though sorry.

Yes it is and thanks I will cut them off and repot it then

Remove all dirt form the orchid roots and put him in a jar with some water and he will thrive, the sygnonium is also happy to live in water or semi hydro (leca/pon)

JUST MAKE SURE THERE IS NO DIRT ON THE ROOTS OR THEY WILL ROT! x

Cut any rot or squishy roots off as well before you repot x leave it in some plain water for a few weeks and then add some liquid fertiliser (I use GT Focus) and my guys are thriving x
