# Which grow light position will be most effective for my monstera?…

_Posted by Matilda on 2024-02-22_

Which grow light position will be most effective for my monstera? I’ve had it up on the shelves for a few months and everything has been fine. I’m considering moving it closer (windowsill, still more than 30cm away from the closest leaf) but I’m concerned about burning the leaves, what do you all think?

Edit: this east ish facing window doesn’t get a lot of light through because of the angle and the neighbour’s house being so close! I found the natural light by itself wasn’t enough for this large plant and once I supplemented with the grow light it really thrived

I have a baby monstera right by my window (only direct light during the sunrise) and I have had no burnt leaves so far! I also have a larger monstera that is doing great in indirect light, so it doesn’t not need to be directly under the window (but it is up to your preference :) I would just make sure to turn it when you notice that the stems are growing sideways towards the light so all sides of the plant get light

Here is also the baby which is right next the window! It grows very well with the sunlight

I think that is fine. Keep it close to a south, southwest or west facing window for some indirect light and it will be fine. Your plant looks good in that spot not ti close to the window.

Which grow light position do you think looks fine? This is an east ish facing window and the only place I can fit this plant

I think the grow light position looks totally fine, enough distance so it doesn't get too dry and overall, I think this plant will grow greatly.
