# Hello again fellow plant people! I wanted to try leca for the first…

Hello again fellow plant people! I wanted to try leca for the first time, so i took a small part of my monstera peru with good roots to experiment with. Is this set up okay? The water reservoir is decently below where the roots are, and I was told the plant will send roots toward the water once it’s ready. I rinsed the clay off the leca, and soaked them overnight as well. Any tips are greatly appreciated! 🐸✨

The only issue I can see is that the opening is significantly narrower than the container. Meaning that if you need to upgrade and that you have a good root system, it will damage it unless you have something that can cut that thick plastic.  
Also, I see you have roots exposed, which can be an issue as they are likely to dry up.

ahh okay I understand. Also it’s a reused glass juice bottle, so i wouldn’t be able to cut it. I will try with a different container! thank you
